STEP BACK IN TIME TO STRATFORD HALL & THE LEE FAMILY

Travel with us to the beautiful ancestral home of the Lee family of Virginia. Richard Henry Lee and Henry Lighthorse Lee had the honor to sign the Declaration of Independence for the colony of Virginia. “Lighthorse” Harry Lee was a hero in our War for Independence and his son, Robert E Lee was graduated head of his class at West Point, fought gallantly in the War with Mexico and was the commandant of West Point. Though he served as the General of the Army of Northern Virginia during the War Between the States, he is to this day considered one of the greatest generals our country has ever produced. Following the conflict, he spent the remainder of his life educating those remaining young men of the South at the small Washington College later changed to what is now Wahington & Lee University. Our late lunch will be at the Cracker Barrel in Fredericksburg ($18 gift card). We will depart Manassas at 7:15 a.m. and Woodbridge at 8:00 a.m. Return time is approximately 4:15 p.m. We strongly encourage you to get a hearty breakfast to go at the McDonald’s in Woodbridge.
