CAPE COD ADVENTURE Featuring Nantucket Island

Join us on a packed itinerary as we visit possibly the most popular destination in all of New England and that is the area known as Cape Cod. Our tour includes three nights lodging at the Best Western Aida in Hyannis and one night at the Holiday Inn in Stony brook on Long Island. For meals we are including four breakfasts, one lunch and 4 dinners including a lobster bake where you have a choice of prime rib or lobster. We will depart Manassas at 6:15 a.m. and Wood bridge at 7:00 a.m. Return time is approximately 8:00 p.m.
DAY ONE: MONDAY, JUNE 3
Today you depart on your deluxe motor coach for a scenic drive through New England to Cape Cod, crossing the widest man-made canal in the world. Upon arrival our dinner will be at the Daniel Webster Estate. Then it is off to our hotel for the next 3 nights, you have accommodations at the lovely and restful Best Western Aida.
DAY TWO: TUESDAY, JUNE 4
This morning, after a full buffet breakfast at your hotel we depart on our all day trip to Province town on the tip of Cape Cod.Enroute we will be traveling passing quaint Cape Cod homes and white-spired churches. A stop will be made at the Cape Cod Natural History Museum where you have a chance to see rare scrimshaw work and Victorian-era whaling harpoons. Now, you embark on a one-hour dune buggy tour over the sand dunes in Province town, passing the remains of the famous “writer shacks” that inspired such authors as Eugene O’Neil and Henry David Thoreau. Later, you enjoy lunch and shopping on your own here before departing. Before returning to the motel, we will stop for a cafeteria-style dinner at the Cream & Cone utilizing your gift certificate good for $20. Be sure to leave a tip at the table.
DAY THREE: WEDNESDAY, JUNE 5:
This morning after a full buffet breakfast at your hotel, we will make a stop at the JFK Memorial and then proceed to catch the boat service to Nantucket Island where a guided tour and fantastic shopping and restaurants are available. Later, we return across Nantucket Sound back to the Cape and . Dinner tonight is at the Yarmouth House Restaurant [With reservation indicate your choice of lobster, prime rib or pasta primavera.
DAY FOUR: THURSDAY, JUNE 6:
This morning, after a full buffet breakfast at your hotel, you head to New London, Connecticut where you take a one and one half hour ferry ride to Orient Point, Long Island. Settled in the 17th century by Connecticut Yankees, this body of land is 118 miles long and just 15 miles wide, but is filled with magnificent scenery. Upon arrival, you re-board your motor coach and stop for wine-tasting at one of the area’s famous wineries before continuing to Stony brook. Known as one of the wealthiest towns in New York and home to many celebrities, Stony brook is famous for its New England clapboard architecture, quaint shops and historic gristmill. Our lodging overnight is at the Holiday Inn. Dinner this evening is at the Mirabell Tavern built in the colonial period and known for its superb cuisine [With reservation advise your choice of chateau steak, salmon, or roasted breast of chicken]. Later, you see a show at Port Jefferson’s Theatre Three Arts Center, a fabulous 400-seat 1860s vaudeville theater, where such well-known stars as Bert Lahr and Milton Berle once performed. Enjoy the production of the Producers.
DAY FIVE: FRIDAY, JUNE 7:
This morning, after a full buffet breakfast at your hotel, you take a scenic 20-mile ride to Centerport. Here, you enjoy a tour and private luncheon at the magnificent 1912 mansion of William K.
Vanderbilt, with original family furnishings. Relive the opulence of the “The Great Gatsby” era as you dine with superb ocean views, overlooking breathtaking Long Island Sound. Later, admission is included at the beautiful Old West bury Gardens before departing for home. We will make a stop enroute home for dinner on your own.
