This year, make Christmas a real vacation and allow others to put forth a gala celebration for you to enjoy to the fullest; Two outstanding shows, the morning and lunch at a beautiful plantation where you delve into the Gullah experience, shopping, and witness the Night of a Thousand Candles at a garden. You do not want to miss this pre-Christmas tour and breathtaking vistas of the Atlantic Ocean. We will depart Manassas at 5:45 a.m. and Woodbridge at 6:30 a.m.

Itinerary

• Day One, Tuesday

Today you can relax and enjoy your journey to Myrtle Beach, SC with lodging for the next three nights at the Beach Cove Resort. Your room will have a view of the ocean. Your bag will be taken to your room with time for you to unwind and explore your surroundings. This evening you had better be hungry as we enjoy the fantastic smorgasbord buffet menu at Original Benjamin’s. We will top the day off with the Christmas show at the Carolina Opry. What a fun way to end our first day.

• Day Two, Wednesday

You will have a voucher for your breakfast at the Tradewinds Café on property. This morning, we have a unique experience in store for you as we depart for our visit to Hopsewee Plantation in Georgetown, SC. Built in 1740, some 40 years before the American Revolutionary War, Hopsewee Plantation was one of the South’s major rice plantations and the birthplace of Thomas Lynch, Jr., one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence. Explore the home from room to room, including the two original slave cabins that still stand on the grounds. Learn about the rich history of Hopsewee, its previous and the enslaved who lived and worked on the plantation. Next, we experience the Gullah Geechee Presentation expanding the experience of the enslaved West Africans on this historic plantation and including their contributions to the wealth and influence of colonial South Carolina through their knowledge, ingenuity, and labor that helped build our nation. We will also enjoy lunch during this presentation. This afternoon we will enjoy a local step-on guide for a visit to Pawley’s Island where you will enjoy unique shopping at the Hammock Shops, We top off the afternoon with the unique Night of a Thousand Candles at Brookgreen Gardens. This evening, we will enjoy dinner at Bubba’s Fish Shack. Remainder of the evening to relax and get added rest for the “big day”!

• Day Three, Thursday

With your voucher enjoy breakfast at the Tradewinds Café. Relax today and enjoy the beach or watch your favorite football team in action. We will enjoy our Holiday Dinner at the Beach Cove followed by the exciting Christmas Show at the Alabama Theatre.

• Day Four, Friday

Use your final voucher for breakfast at the Tradewinds Café. We will then depart for home making a lunch stop at the Cracker Barrel in Rocky Mount, NC ($18 gift card). Return time is approximately 5:00 p.m.
