DORCHESTER SEAFOOD & WINE TOUR
We will meet our step-on tour guide at the
Dorchester County Visitor Center in Cambridge,
MD. After a brief restroom stop, we’ll make our way to
Hoopers Island, passing by sceneries, which includes
lush pine forests and waterways, while your tour guide
educates and informs about the way of life in
Dorchester County. When we get to Hoopers Island,
we’ll go by where the Phillips Seafood empire began,
and over the Narrows Ferry Bridge, where you’ll see
the Chesapeake Bay in all of its glory! On Hoopers
Island, enjoy a buffet-style meal at Old Salty’s
restaurant. The meal features seafood items like crabcakes, fish, and clam strips, but also non-seafood items
like chicken, tossed salad, vegetables, and more. Enjoy
a slice of homemade pie for dessert. After lunch, we’ll
stop at Emily’s Produce, a produce market that is
operated by a family that has farmed the fields of
Dorchester County for seven generations! They offer a
wide variety of fruits and vegetables, meats, plants, and
other items. This will be followed up with a ride over to
Dorchester County’s first and only winery. At Layton’s
Chance Vineyard & Winery, you will learn the art and
science of wine making, complete with several samples
of wine to enjoy. Wine will also be available for
purchase. On the way back to Cambridge, we’ll stop at
Kool Ice & Seafood, where you’ll have the opportunity
to purchase seafood to take home! Bring your coolers if
you want to do this!
We will depart Manassas at 7:00
a.m. and Woodbridge at 7:45 a.m. Return time is
approximately 7:30 p.m.
