[May 11, 2020 – Washington, DC] DC Trails and more than 100 motorcoach companies from around the United States will descend on Washington, DC, Wednesday, May 13 to spread awareness of issues the industry is facing in wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The rally, beginning at 10:30 a.m., will start from below Three Staging areas, and pass the U.S. Capitol building and circle the National Mall.

  • 1100 Anapolis Way , Woodbridge Virginia
  • Audi Field
  • Union Station

Each participating bus and motorcoach will be decorated with facts and informative signs about the industry and how it benefits America and the economy. There will be motorcoaches from every state in the country.

According to a press release from the American Bus Association (AMA), the rally is intended to remind government officials and the Trump administration that the private motorcoach sector is in dire need of financial assistance.

“[The motorcoach industry] has laid off approximately 90 percent of its workforce in recent months,” the AMA stated.

The industry is rallying to request that the Economic Injury Disaster Loan and Paycheck Protection Program be amended to include it. It’s also asking for more than $15 billion in grants and loans to help the industry stay afloat.

The Motorcoaches Rolling for Awareness Event, as it’s being called, is the culmination of a partnership between the AMA and United Motorcoach Association, the country’s two largest advocacy organizations. Independent motorcoach operators, state associations, and other key industry leaders will also be involved.
