LEXINGTON-NATURAL BRIDGE-MONTICELLO

LEXINGTON-NATURAL BRIDGE-MONTICELLO

Thomas Jefferson owned millions of acres in Virginia back in his day, and one of the more beautiful sights outside of his home was this majestic 215-foot high Natural Bridge, and of course, we will visit his home. We will also enjoy some of the other attractions in the Lexington, VA area. We will depart Woodbridge at 7:00 a.m. and Manassas at 7:45 a.m. Day One: Upon arrival, we will get a guided tour of Lexington, VA, stopping at Washington & Lee University, including the chapel where Robert E. Lee is buried. Lunch will be at the Pink Cadillac Diner. This afternoon, let’s go for a 1- hour horse-drawn carriage ride through town and also visit the Virginia Military Institute Museum. We check into the Natural Bridge Historic Hotel, where we have dinner (included) for the night. There will be no luggage service on this trip. Day Two: After a full breakfast at the hotel, we depart for the Natural Bridge. A shuttle will take us from our motorcoach down to the bridge site and back. We then head to Thomas Jefferson’s home, Monticello for tour! but not without first stopping at the wonderful Michie Tavern for lunch with their famous ‘fried chicken’ served in the ordinary, a true 1784 pub! Return time is approximately 7:30 p.m.
